Shibari Basics: Solo & Switching Shibari workshop

Learn the basic Shibari techniques, with or without a partner. You can come alone or with a friend or lover.

You don’t need any experience with Shibari to join this workshop!

This workshop is for you when:

  • You don't have a rope partner, and would like to learn how to tie solo.

  • You are a duo/couple and you both want to learn to tie, so you can switch roles when playing at home.

  • You want to get tied, but first want to learn the basics and safety. So you can assess your playpartner's skills.

  • You get tied already, but also want to understand the technique and get more insight into safety.

  • You want to tie yourself up, just for the fun of it!

Technical basics: solo or partnered

Japanese bondage (shibari) is beautiful to see and intense to experience. During this workshop, Butterfly will teach you the basics of shibari technique.

  1. The first half of the workshop, you’ll learn the basics knots and frictions by tying your own body.

  2. The second half of the workshop you can either practice tying and getting tied with another participant, or continue practicing on your own body. Both are very beneficial to your learning process.

What you will learn

You will lay the groundwork for your own practice and development, to play with rope. Looking at the complete basics, like:
