Shibari

Learn rope bondage with Butterfly

Playfulness and intimacy are powerful tools to connect to yourself and with a partner. Rope is an excellent tool to do so. Playing with rope brings out your free, playful nature. And maybe also your erotic desires; your curiosity to take charge or to surrender; your longing to touch and be touched. It can be liberating and even healing to explore shibari, and new ways of touching and being together!

Butterfly makes an effort to be an inclusive teacher. No matter your age, gender, orientation, body type, experience level - everyone is welcome. She understands you might be nervous or excited taking part in a workshop or a lesson. So we always start by creating a safer space together. Usually, people feel really safe and relaxed within the first hour. So even when you're hesitant, come and join us!

Butterfly

Butterfly has been teaching Shibari since 2012. She can help you take your first steps into the art of rope bondage; or can stimulate you to deepen your rope play. She likes to focus equally on technique and on the contact between partners. Connection and intimacy are key, along with creativity.

She is also a certified Coach & Relationship Therapist and works with individuals and couples. Themes include relating, intimacy, sexuality, trauma, embodiment, conflict and emotions (see MarchalCoaching.com). And she has 13 years experience leading group workshops and guiding couples privately.

“The 'Bondage Basics' workshop was the first time I ever tried bondage. From the first minute onward, I felt Butterfly's passion for bondage and her drive to convey this passion to others. Her way of teaching is very hands-on.”

Reviews

“It was so nice to feel the essence of what Japanese bondage can means during the 'Connective bondage' workshop: the rope as an extension of myself to really have contact with my partner and especially have a lot of fun.”

Linda (40)

“Being able to start with Shibari without a partner was great. During the ‘Solo & Switching Shibari workshop’ I learnt the basic knots and also made new friends to now practice with.”

Tim (24)

“Private tuition has been not just informative, but I dare say transformative for our relationship. After 3 classes, Butterfly really helped us become more conscious in our intimate interactions. This has improved our relationship in general. This couldn't have happened in a group setting.”
